How Can You Be Free If... There Are Two Of You.
Ever get the feeling there are two of you?
Ever get the feeling there are two of you?
How else could we beat ourselves up?
There’s you, then there’s the part of you that wants to mess you up for some reason.
Call it the saboteur, inner critic, or the more ambiguous ego.
Actually, don’t call it any of these, make up your own name for it.
I’m going with ‘Henry’.
Then, when it pipes up and tries to bring you down, say:
“Not today Henry… NOT… TODAY!!!”
Discerning the true you is the work.
Should be simple
But we’re complex Beings in a complex world.
This is how I see it…
Picture a nice colourful ball of wool
And a big lump of play-dough (thoughts, ideas, conditioning etc)
Then mash them together like you mean it.
Hey presto, you’ve just created yourself.
A personal identity all tangled up the fabric of Life.
Nothing at all wrong with it…
If it’s working.
The issue is that this little merger likely happened while we were sleeping.
“Waking up” is the process of disentangling the Life from the person
So we can put it back together again
Consciously this time
In a way of our choosing.
So, how many of us is there?
In reality, One.
In the illusion of separation, at least two, probably more.
Conflicting ‘parts’ looking to be lovingly re-integrated
So there’s just One left.
This is what Yoga is about in many ways.
It literally means union.
It’s international yoga day tomorrow - June 21st.
If you’ve been considering starting a meditation practice, check out this new free app called ‘Miracle of Mind’ from Sadhguru. Only takes 7 minutes a day.
Yoga/Meditation is a must for me and with the way the world is going, it’s gonna be a must for a whole lot of people.
Have a great weekend!

I drew this some years ago.
It makes more sense to me now.
Sun & Moon — Masculine & Feminine energies.
Balancing the two within to bring about a state of inner balance or equilibrium so our energy starts to flow how we want it to. Yoga is a science to make this happen.
