Reinvent Yourself Before You’re Ready
Reinvention... It’s messy, necessary, and a pain in the ass when the old parts of you refuse to let go.
Here’s what I’ve learned.
1. You Already Have All The Pieces… But You’re Probably Overlooking Them.
We’re conditioned to believe there must always be something missing, and the only way to fix that is to look outside and away from the answer — the Being we already are.
If you’re struggling with direction, look at your life path so far — it holds more insight than you may initially think. Ask:
‘What is staring me right in the face that, for some reason unbeknownst to man, I am denying because I don’t think that’s why I’m here… or because I think I’m made for something other than XYZ… or because I’ve taken who I am or what I can do for granted and mistakenly assumed everybody can do this thing?’
The answer might hold the key to your next step.
I did this recently — here’s the result.
2. You’re Not for Everyone (And That’s OK, Neither Am I)
A hard lesson to truly accept.
Intellectually, I’ve known this for a while. But as I’m discovering over and over again, learning something intellectually means very little if you don’t know it ‘in your bones’.
We all want to be loved and accepted; it’s hard-wired into us.
But how can those you’re here to serve find you if you keep watering yourself down to feel safe?
The simple answer is they can’t.
How many of our issues are amplified, ignored or exacerbated by the need to fit in and be accepted? It influences everything, often at the expense of the spark of soul inside that longs to express. This suppression is at the root of dis-ease.
The good news is we’re being forced to take a good look at this. AI will make sure of it, surely. There’s nothing like being backed against a wall to see what the Human Spirit can do.
3. Vibes Are the New Currency
When information becomes a commodity (abundant, cheap and easily accessible), the value of ‘vibes’ goes up.
‘Vibes’ are simply the felt sense we get from a thing, like a person living authentically, or even a product we’re being sold.
As the intuitive ability to sense vibes increases, we're less likely to fall for the manipulative marketing strategies designed to sell us a bunch of crap that we don't need.
The inauthentic, ‘service to a separate self’ paradigm, rooted in greed, control, and extraction, is becoming increasingly louder to the BS radar of intuition growing just as fast.
If we want to keep our humanity intact and not be numbed out by the relentless stream of world events, we must strengthen our ability to listen, sense and feel more deeply.
4. The Real Shift Is About Identity
Zoom out from any reinvention and you’ll see it’s part of a much larger journey — a spiritual one. A cascading unfolding where we surrender our personal identity over and over again, to the ‘I AM’ presence that we all ultimately are.
Any reinvention requires an identity shift. You break apart the old identity, lay out all the pieces on the floor, then start putting it all back together again, as consciously as you can this time. The first time was just a practice run anyway.
How many deaths in identity do we experience while we’re alive? If we’re waking up and travelling a path to deeper truth and meaning, it must be many.
The further we strengthen that connection to the I AM consciousness — the interconnected Being of which we are inseparable from — the more its light and guidance will shine through. It’s always already available; we must become available to it.
5. Inner Coherence Matters.
Aligning the constellation that is your inner world, so that what you think, do, and say reflects the true you. Paradoxically, this takes a lot of inner work.
In the past, we could easily avoid this process until our dying day. The world supported it because it benefited from our attempts to fill a void inside with more stuff. This is still true, but it’s changing fast as more and more people are waking up.
We can make it easy on ourselves, or we can keep operating from fear. Reality is screaming, ‘wake up, remember, turn inward’. The longer we bury our heads in the sand, the harder the inevitable will be.
Nothing is missing. Who you are is already enough to make a living doing what you love by fashioning it into something that also serves the world. The weirder it is, the better. Your soul knows your destined path. Learning to listen and trust is the work.
6. It Takes Time
It takes time to reinvent yourself.
It takes time to reconnect with your soul.
It’s a recalibration—a new way of navigating.
It’s not something you do for an accolade; it’s something you do to be free from the old self you never were anyway.
